Job Overview: Do you have industrial maintenance experience? Do you have experience working in a COMAH environment? We are seeking an Electrical & Instrument Technician for a minimum of 6 months work at a chemical site in Ellesmere Port to respond to planned and reactive maintenance of equipment.

- Fuel Specialties - Leading fuel additive technologies to boost efficiency, lower emissions, and support renewable fuel blends
- Oilfield Services - Custom fluid solutions, lab testing, and on-site technical support for global drilling and production operations
- Performance Chemicals - Serving Agrochemical, Personal Care, Construction, Metal Extraction, and Home Care markets with surfactants and expert formulations
You will be required to:
- Support the Manufacturing group with a high level of expertise to maintain assets safely and contribute to production targets being met.
- Undertake all routines necessary to maintain asset reliability and ensure conformance with statutory, mandatory, and regulatory requirements.
- Install, repair, and maintain power, lighting, communications, and control systems.
- Test, calibrate, install, repair, and inspect monitoring and control devices.
- Fault find on equipment up to 415v.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot process control software issues.
- Test and calibrate spring-loaded safety valves.
- Test safety equipment and interlocks.
- Conform to appropriate 18th Edition IEE wiring regulations regarding installation of equipment.
- Manage and work within current legislation concerning high hazard substances including asbestos and lead.
You must have:
- Industrial maintenance experience
- Experience working in a COMAH environment
Ideally you will be:
- A time-served E&I Technician (more likely to be electrically biased).
- Fully trained and familiar with IEC60079 parts 14 & 17, meaning you are CompEx trained (and in date) for both gas & dust areas.
- 18th Edition wiring regulations qualification.
This role involves practical, hands-on repairs on instrument & electrical equipment in hazardous areas. Self-motivated and able to work independently and as part of a team. Initially 6 months, with potential for extension.
Rates of Pay: This role is in-scope of IR35, so we can only offer PAYE or Umbrella pay models.
