Role Description

Support the creation of high-performance trailers that scale IP, deepen fandom, and spark global attention through world-class storytelling, platform-native editing, and AI-assisted workflows. As an Assistant Trailer Editor at FlightStory, you’ll help shape compelling trailers by preparing footage, organising assets, and assisting senior editors throughout the post-production process. You’ll learn by doing, supporting edits that are built to perform and creatively contributing to content that moves audiences.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in crafting high-performance trailers by organising footage, syncing multicam interviews, prepping timelines, pulling selects, sourcing music, and referencing visual inspiration.
  • Support edits optimised for YouTube, TikTok, Reels, and other short-form formats.
  • Learn and apply data-informed storytelling by collaborating with editors and strategists to understand how performance metrics shape narrative choices.
  • Help implement feedback and build awareness of retention tactics, pacing, and platform-specific techniques.
  • Support AI-enhanced editing workflows using tools like Runway, Descript, Firefly, and in-house AI.
  • Contribute to workflow experimentation, speed improvements, and creative problem-solving.
  • Collaborate across teams with a positive and proactive mindset.
  • Join brainstorms, edit huddles, and reviews.
  • Keep project files and templates organised, and support fast-paced creative output.
  • Contribute to team morale and continuous learning.
