Merrifield Consultants is thrilled to represent The Springboard Charity to find their new Head of Fundraising to lead the long-term vision for sustainable fundraising growth. This person will shape and drive the future of income generation at Springboard, proactively identifying and securing new funding opportunities, while ensuring the effective management of existing funder relationships.

Springboard is a UK-based charity founded in 1990 with a mission to futureproof the hospitality, leisure, and tourism sectors by equipping people from all backgrounds, especially young or disadvantaged individuals, with the skills, confidence, and opportunities to build lasting careers in those industries.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement a robust fundraising strategy to sustain and grow Springboard's income.
  • Maintain and expand relationships with trusts, foundations and public funding bodies, ensuring a strong pipeline of multi-year funding.
  • Develop tailored engagement plans for major donors, philanthropic partners and legacy giving programmes, ensuring a long-term commitment to Springboard.
  • Identify and implement new fundraising strategies, such as high-value philanthropy initiatives, digital campaigns and donor engagement programmes.
  • Identify and secure new grant funding opportunities, preparing high-quality, competitive applications.
  • Ensure a balanced and sustainable portfolio of income sources.
  • Monitor fundraising performance, using data and insights to inform strategy.
  • Oversee fundraising compliance at a strategic level, delegating operational grant management and reporting to your team.
  • Provide strategic leadership to the fundraising team, fostering a high-performance culture.
Person Specification:
  • A strong track record of securing multi-year grants and managing funder relationships.
  • Proven experience in trusts, foundations and public sector fundraising.
  • Experience in developing and managing corporate partnerships, philanthropic giving, major donor relationships and legacy giving programmes, including engaging high-net-worth individuals.
  • Excellent networking and relationship-building skills.
  • Strong strategic thinking and ability to identify and capitalise on funding opportunities.
  • Confidence in presenting funding proposals and advocating for the charity's work.
  • An interest and/or knowledge of the hospitality, tourism or charity sectors.
