Job Title: Fleet Engineering Manager

Location: Hemel Hempstead, HP2 7PZ GB (Main)

Role Overview:

The Fleet Engineering Manager (FEM) oversees the Vehicle Maintenance Unit (VMU), fleet operations, and Material Handling Equipment (MHE), ensuring compliance with legal standards and company policies. The role focuses on driving continuous improvement and working closely with key stakeholders.

Role Details:

Salary: £58,500

Hours: 37.5 hours/week

Working pattern: Mon-Fri

Location: Hemel, HP2 7EA

Main Responsibilities:

• Drive progression and continuous improvement of VMU, fleet, and MHE
• Manage service levels and ensure safety and compliance
• Develop and implement improvement plans
• Manage labor resources and shift patterns
• Oversee financial budgets and reporting
• Ensure compliance through audits and checks
• Manage third-party contractors and customers
• Participate in site safety and leadership meetings
• Provide cover for the Vehicle Service Manager as needed

Candidate Profile:

• Experience in fleet engineering or maintenance
• Management of VMUs, fleet operations, and MHE
• Strong technical skills and problem-solving abilities
• Engineering qualification (C&G, HNC, HND or higher)
• Experience in a unionized environment
