Purpose of the Job
CBRE Global Workplace Solutions (GWS) has a clear vision. Our key strategic goals involve putting our clients first, investing in top talent, delivering operational excellence and constant innovation. Due to continued growth, we are recruiting for a Business Unit Technical Manager to join an established Data Centre division supporting with multiple accounts (predominately in East London, with one site in Surrey).
Successful candidates will have a proven track record in mechanical and electrical maintenance engineering and excellent interpersonal skills. You will be electrically qualified with a proven track record (preferably) operating in Data Centre Environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide onsite operations teams and clients with technical SME support.
- Drive operational excellence across all data centres.
- Promote risk management culture and lead the adoption and ongoing compliance with the DCS Shield program including CBRE risk management processes.
- Proactively develop and implement risk reduction strategies to minimise risk and maximise uptime, ensuring risk registers and effective mitigations plans are in place.
- Asset management focussing on asset data quality, FMRs and optimising maintenance strategies.
- Incident management including root cause analysis / post problem reviews and producing incident reports and lessons learned documentation.
- Act as Senior Authorised Person for HV / LV and confined space.
- Undertake technical compliance audits and reviews.
- Produce regular and ad hoc internal and external technical reports as required.
- Mentor contract based technical managers, engineering operations managers and account leads in ensuring engineering best practice is adopted across the business unit.
- Lead apprenticeship and technical training programs to enhance the development and competency of operational teams.
- Provide technical SME support to project and business development teams.
- Liaise and work in partnership with the QHSE team.
- Engage with the business unit leadership team to support the business unit growth strategy.
