Your Role

We’re seeking a Chief Data Architecture Leader to join our Global Data Architecture team within Enterprise Architecture that supports our Investments, Distributions, and corporate data and analytics modeling requirements. You will be responsible for designing and implementing the organization’s data architecture strategy. This role will involve collaborating with various departments to ensure data integrity, security, and accessibility. The role drives effective modernization within our data ecosystem through architectural and technical uplift while maintaining strong stakeholder communications to ensure proper organizational change management. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data architecture, enterprise architecture, data management, and financial services.

You Will Be Responsible For:

  • Develop, implement, and maintain the Data Architecture Strategy for the enterprise that encompasses capabilities, optimization, and governance for the firm’s data and information architecture.
  • Lead the design, development, and maintenance of data models, databases, and data integration solutions.
  • Maintain the Data and Analytic capabilities (Definitions, maturity, and roadmaps) in the Enterprise Architecture Repository.
  • Collaborate with IT, business units, platform teams, engineering teams, and other stakeholders to understand data requirements and provide architecture direction and solutions.
  • Understand and provide architecture controls for risk reduction and Global regulatory requirements such as DORA, GDPR, etc.
  • Stay current on emerging architecture trends and technology advancements in the data and analytic domain, which inform roadmaps and future direction.
  • Establish and maintain vendor management and understand the cost, Fin-Ops, and value of technologies in the portfolio.
  • Stay current with emerging architectural trends and technologies in the data and analytic domain and their applicability to the financial services industry.

The Experience You Bring:

  • 10+ Years of experience in Data Architecture, Data Management, Data Engineering, and related roles.
  • Experience in leadership and people management.
  • Strong knowledge of data modeling, database design/optimization, data integration techniques, and data security practices.
  • Experience architecting and implementing Data Governance capabilities such as Data Quality, Data Catalogs, Lineage, Taxonomies and Glossaries.
  • Structured, detailed approach to work and disciplined time management skills in an Agile environment.
  • Proven record for thinking strategically and driving strategic direction into deliverable solutions.
  • Proven experience working in a collaborative environment, building strong relationships at all levels of the organization.
  • Familiarity with financial services industry regulations and compliance requirements.
  • Enterprise Architecture Certifications and/or experience (e.g. TOGAF preferred).
  • Experience with cloud-based data platforms (Snowflake and AWS are preferred).
  • Knowledge of emerging data architectures such as Lakehouse, data pipelines, and event-driven architectures.
  • Proven ability to mentor, coach and develop talent.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Open minded, flexible, and willing to listen for other people’s opinions.
  • Strong organizational skills and detail orientation.
  • An experienced agile development practitioner who can utilize tools such as Jira and Confluence.
  • Ability to properly influence others through discussion, collaboration and facts.
  • Experience with managing budgets and reporting spend to executive management.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

The total compensation offered for this position, which includes salary and incentive pay, will vary based on skills, experience and location. The salary range for this position in New York City is $200,000 - $265,000 annually.
