Responsibilities include:

  • Preparing surfaces by cleaning, sanding, scraping, and priming.
  • Mixing paints accurately according to specifications.
  • Applying paint, topcoats, varnishes, and finishes using rollers, brushes, and spray techniques.
  • Repairing and spraying components in the spray booth.
  • Conducting inspections to ensure quality standards.
  • Maintaining a clean and organized work environment.
  • Carrying out routine maintenance of spray booths and L.E.V systems.
  • Following safety procedures at all times.
  • Updating maintenance records.
  • Performing non-maintenance activities as directed and where competent.

Candidate requirements:

  • Minimum of ASE2 painter competency.
  • At least two and a half years of relevant painter experience.
  • Ability to meet medical requirements for the role.
  • Competency in safety and task-specific training.
  • Familiarity with rolling stock maintenance or willing to learn.
  • Willingness to learn new skills.
  • Proficiency in surface preparation and mixing paints.
  • Positive attitude and good working relationships.
  • Effective problem-solving skills.
