We are looking for a legal professional with at least 1 year’s experience of dealing with property and affairs Court of Protection matters to join our growing Court of Protection Department based in our Manchester Office. In this role, every day will be a unique and exciting challenge that will include:

  • Assisting the Deputy to manage a national caseload of High Value Property and Affairs deputyships and trust matters, working with brain-injured vulnerable children and adults.
  • Managing a caseload of smaller cases and building a private client caseload.
  • Out of office visits to clients and their families.
  • Working alongside and supporting the Clinical Negligence team.
  • Assisting in marketing and developing the COP team.

  • Understanding of the Mental Capacity Act, Mental Capacity Code of Practice and the Court of Protection Rules.
  • Strong private client experience.

  • A passion for working in this area of law and a commitment to helping families rebuild their lives post-injury.
  • Commitment to delivering excellent client care/service.

It is desired that you have:

  • STEP qualification or an interest in undertaking a qualification.
  • A drive to develop your career in this area, as there are good progression prospects for the right candidate.
  • Understanding of welfare benefits.

Experienced private client solicitors with a background in probate and trust management, looking to specialise in this area, will be considered.
