Morgan Philips is delighted to be representing this great brand in their search for a Head of Reward, having supported them to hire the current incumbent some years ago. Reporting to the People Director, as part of the People Leadership Team, the Head of Reward is accountable for developing and delivering all aspects of the Reward strategy during a period of significant business and cultural change. This role will lead a team of experts in compensation, benefits, and pensions, ensuring alignment with the organization’s evolving needs. A strong leader, you will communicate the bigger picture to your team and coach them through transitions pragmatically as well as being very hands on yourself. Based in Bedfordshire, this role is offered on a hybrid basis with 1-2 days per week in the office. Base salary c£100k + car allowance + fantastic bonus and additional benefits.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Reward Strategy Development: Develop and implement a comprehensive Reward strategy that aligns with organizational objectives and enhances the employee experience. Propose and design fit-for-purpose Reward solutions that drive business performance and support a competitive and motivating compensation framework.
  • Team Leadership and Development: Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing Reward team, promoting a culture of innovation and adaptability. Guide team members through change while ensuring clear communication and understanding of the organization's goals.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Establish and maintain strong, effective relationships with a diverse array of stakeholders, including the UK Executive team and Senior Leadership Team. Collaborate with senior leaders across functions, sharing accountability for cross-functional projects to ensure successful strategy implementation.
  • Expert Consultation: Provide subject matter expertise covering the full spectrum of reward disciplines including pay principles, incentive design, role architecture, recognition programs, and benefits management. Utilize analytics and market data to ensure reward practices are competitive and aligned with industry standards.
  • Change Management: Navigate and thrive in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment with shifting contexts. Make confident decisions while managing multiple priorities and complexities effectively.
  • Communication and Engagement: Articulate Reward concepts and strategies in a clear and impactful manner to all levels within the organization. Foster a culture of transparency and engagement around Reward initiatives to enhance understanding and adoption.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in a Reward leadership role, with a strong background in compensation (ideally with benefits, pensions, and well-being exposure too).
  • Demonstrated ability to build strong stakeholder relationships and manage cross-functional projects.
  • Exceptional communication skills with the ability to convey complex ideas clearly and engage diverse audiences.
  • Experience navigating significant organizational change and ambiguity effectively.
  • A commitment to fostering a non-hierarchical environment that values autonomy, transparency, and executive visibility.
