About the Role: As a Senior IT Cloud Engineer, you will be a key player in our IT Operations division, reporting to the IT Systems Team Leader. You will support and lead our organization in utilizing cloud infrastructure and platform services. Your role will involve managing our Public Cloud infrastructure for optimised, resilient and cost-effective service delivery, designing and implementing new cloud-related capabilities, integrating cloud environments with other SaaS solutions, and ensuring robust networking and security in the cloud.

Special requirements for this post Key Responsibilities:

  • Day to day management and monitoring of our Azure Public Cloud infrastructure to ensure costs are managed, performance maintained, and services are resilient and secure.
  • Lead design and implementation activities for cloud infrastructure and platform services.
  • Automate cloud management tasks, provisioning, and configuration management.
  • Collaborate closely with product/platform teams, software developers, security, and network specialists.
  • Support colleagues with complex operational concerns within the Azure Public Cloud environment, including knowledge sharing, training/development of Cloud skills, deployment activities, event management, incident and problem management, and service continuity.
  • Develop the skill set of the wider IT Systems team to enhance their cloud infrastructure capabilities.

About You: Enthusiastic about enhancing service offerings and collaborating across functions to leverage Cloud based solutions to enable the organisation to deliver its services. Strong communicator at all levels of the organisation. Decisive with a 'can do' attitude, focused on problem-solving and delivering results. Excellent Technical knowledge of Microsoft Azure Public Cloud services, including Virtual Machines, Virtual Desktop, AUM, backup and site recovery, fabric, automation, cost optimisation. Committed to personal compliance with Equality and Diversity policies, Health & Safety legislation, and General Data Protection Regulation. Commitment on occasions to working out of normal hours where needed to ensure the smooth running of the IT service.
