As a Director of Software Engineering at JPMorgan Chase within the Commercial and Investment Bank, Credit Technology team, you lead a technical area and drive impact within teams, technologies, and projects across departments. Utilize your in-depth knowledge of software, applications, technical processes, and product management to drive multiple complex projects and initiatives, while serving as a primary decision maker for your teams and being a driver of innovation and solution delivery.
You will be leading an agile team that works towards the strategic Risk and P&L stack for Credit business by developing and leveraging components which bring multiple lines of business across Markets to a consistent architecture. You will be driving development of software components for the firm's state-of-the-art technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. The target state will have multiple technical stacks and teams converge into one, and in the process, the leadership for both the new architecture and support for the business on existing stack will have to be strengthened.
Job responsibilities:
- Leads technology and process implementations to achieve functional technology objectives.
- Makes decisions that influence teams' resources, budget, tactical operations, and the execution and implementation of processes and procedures.
- Carries governance accountability for coding decisions, control obligations, and measures of success such as cost of ownership, maintainability, and portfolio operations.
- Delivers technical solutions that can be leveraged across multiple businesses and domains.
- Influences peer leaders and senior stakeholders across the business, product, and technology teams.
- Champions the firm's culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect.
- Leads development of risk management systems for both real-time and end of day business needs for Bond and Credit Derivatives products.
- Develops innovative software solutions to deliver scalable front office facing risk management services.
- Designs and develops with consideration of upstream and downstream systems and technical implications.
- With an aptitude for solving problems, creative, quick-thinking, pragmatic and an ability to quickly translate demands into sound technical requirements.
- Learns and applies system processes, methodologies, and skills for the development of secure and stable systems.
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills:
- Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and expert applied experience in front office technology.
- Advanced experience leading technologists to manage, anticipate and solve complex technical items within your domain of expertise.
- Experience developing or leading cross-functional teams of technologists.
- Experience with hiring, developing, and recognizing talent.
- Practical cloud native experience.
- Hands-on practical experience in system design, application development and operational stability.
- Understanding of Credit or similar financial markets products.
- Expertise in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, or a related technical field.
