A specialist real estate lender is seeking a commercially driven Director of Origination to lead the sourcing and execution of new development finance opportunities across the UK. This is a senior, front-office role for someone with deep market knowledge, a strong existing network (or the ability to build one), and a track record of delivering structured finance solutions to SME developers. The ideal candidate is a self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced, relationship-led environment and is passionate about real estate finance.
The Role
- Originate new lending opportunities across residential, commercial, and mixed-use developments.
- Build and maintain relationships with property developers, brokers, advisers, and intermediaries.
- Visit development sites to assess project viability, key assumptions, risks, and pricing.
- Structure and present lending proposals to the credit committee with clear commercial rationale.
- Manage the deal process through execution, including negotiation and liaison with third parties (valuers, QS, legal advisers, etc.).
- Represent the lender externally, building your personal brand in the development finance space.

- Pre-existing experience in UK development finance or real estate structured lending.
- Proven origination experience and a network of active contacts in the property development market.
