We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced immigration solicitor or caseworker. Those who live in and around Sheffield will be able to work in our Sheffield hub, with flexible working from home options if desired. Those who live outside of Sheffield will be able to benefit from full-time working from home options plus access to our business space in London.

Duties will include:

  • Providing legal advice to clients;
  • Organisation and tracking of client cases and files and maintaining information on relevant expiry dates (visa deadlines, sponsor licence renewals, etc.);
  • Proof reading and checking documents for accuracy;
  • Undertaking technical and practical legal research including identification, collation, and distribution of information;
  • Assisting with the preparation of presentations, client updates and other business development activities and helping to promote the firm generally;
  • Obtaining accurate initial information from potential clients;
  • Assisting with a range of general office duties as needed.

Essential skills and experience:

  • Experience advising clients on immigration law matters;
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, attention to detail and strong organisational skills;
  • Excellent IT and research skills;
  • A team player who can also work under own initiative;
  • A passion for immigration law and strong desire to dedicate the focus, effort and time needed to develop a career in this field;
  • Experience working in a legal environment.

If you are already an established immigration caseworker (OISC regulated or working under the supervision of a solicitor) and are also considering becoming a solicitor in the future under the new SQE regime, we are able to offer qualifying work experience and potential assistance with SQE costs.

Trainee Solicitor – Immigration

Apply for our Trainee Solicitor role to kick-start your career as a solicitor. Applicants with no immigration law experience will need to complete a period of up to 6 months working as an Immigration Paralegal before an application to become a Trainee Solicitor will be considered. Time spent as a paralegal can count towards the period of formal training.

Based in our Sheffield office, duties will include:

  • Providing legal support as required on client cases;

  • Proof reading and checking documents for accuracy;

  • Assisting with a range of general office and administrative duties as needed.

Essential skills and experience:

  • LPC (either completed or near to completion);
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, attention to detail and strong organisational skills;
  • Excellent IT and research skills;
  • A team player who can also work under own initiative;
  • A passion for immigration law and strong desire to dedicate the focus, effort and time needed to develop a career in this field;
  • Experience working in a legal environment;
  • The ability to pass the SRA’s character and suitability requirements.
