We are looking for a dedicated Motor Claims Handler to join our Blue Light Claims Team. As a Motor Claims Handler, you will be responsible for assessing insurance claims and determining the extent of liability on behalf of our clients. This role involves examining damages to people and property (homes, vehicles, and offices), as well as handling personal injury and credit hire claims. You will successfully implement strategies to manage claims effectively and efficiently.
How you'll make an impact:
- Review and record claims on our in-house system within product standards, check policy coverage, and allocate appropriate codes and reserves.
- Conduct liability enquiries using the most appropriate method (phone, correspondence, field visit).
- Evaluate quantum by gathering relevant evidence and adjusting reserves in accordance with Gallagher Bassett's realistic reserving philosophy.
- Clearly explain decisions on liability and negotiate settlements within authority levels where appropriate.
- Respond to all written and phone enquiries.
- Regularly review claims using the diary system to ensure accurate reserves and timely closure.
- Develop relationships with clients by providing a friendly and efficient service.
- Liaise with and control own solicitors to ensure cases are not abandoned to them.
- Assist in general office administration (e.g., post, printing, order supplies, maintaining equipment) to ensure smooth running of the office.
- Actively participate in the Gallagher Bassett training program.
- Align with all Gallagher Bassett and office procedures.
About You:
- Personal Injury claims experience is essential.
- Determine liability/compensability on adjuster-level claims.
- Develop and implement a proactive resolution strategy.
- Detailed understanding of the litigation process.
- Ability to build strong, effective relationships.
