Harrods Aviation is a widely recognised leading aviation company specialising in FBO and Engineering Services across their bases in Luton and Stansted, UK. We are currently looking to recruit the following position at our Stansted base.

The Role

Our Stansted MRO provides Base Maintenance for Sikorsky S-76, S-92, Leonardo AW139 and Airbus H155. Our customer base is varied from VVIP to Offshore and in addition to Base Maintenance we offer turnkey solutions including interior refurbishment and lease transaction support.

The key accountability for this role is to ensure that the Engineering Department complies with the regulatory requirements as specified by the Competent Authority and the Compliance Monitoring Department.

Key responsibilities and accountabilities include the following:

  • Responsible for oversight and supporting as required, all areas of Base / Line maintenance and support activities including sub-contracted maintenance providers.
  • Responsible for the control and standards of performance of the maintenance department and for the day to day administrative of personnel.
  • Responsible for ensuring the competence of all maintenance personnel under their management.
  • Ensure support requests from customers are managed from proposal through to completion providing regular feedback and acting as a point of contact when necessary.
  • Assist with the planning of scheduled maintenance ensuring the availability of tools, equipment, materials and sufficient competent personnel are available to plan, perform, supervise, inspect and certify the work to be performed.
  • Responsible for ensuring that customer’s approval for the work/rectification to be carried out has been obtained and those payment terms are agreed. This would include the review of draft customer invoices.
  • Ensure aircraft maintenance is carried out and documentation is completed in accordance with work specification, Regulatory requirements and Company procedures.
  • Responsible for all aspects of performance, well-being, training, development, motivation, performance, and Health and Safety of the Engineering department staff.

Hours of Work

The hours for this position are as required for the business. However, the general working days are Monday to Friday based on a 40 hour working week. The Engineering Manager is required to provide an exceptionally high level of service and is responsible for ensuring that business needs are met in a timely and appropriate manner. The role will require occasional travel to our suppliers and all our bases, dependent on the needs of the business.

The Successful Candidate

The successful candidate for this responsible role must have demonstrable experience to fulfil this role. Applicants must be acceptable to the CAA or other authorities as a nominated post holder.

It is vital that all applicants:

  • Must have the Qualifications and / or required experience to hold a CAA & EASA Form 4.
  • Demonstratable management experience in an MRO environment.

The successful candidate for this demanding role shall be flexible, and have the ability to prioritise and problem solve, demonstrate good communication skills and able to work autonomously effectively managing a varied workload. The role will be required to travel to other locations on occasions; therefore a full UK driving license is essential, as is holding the right to live and work in the UK. You will also need to have a 5 year checkable history in order to obtain an airport ID pass.
