The Company: We are representing one of the UK’s leading Contractors who are recognised as a market leading contractor throughout the UK & Europe and are currently looking for a Mechanically led Bid-Support Manager. They're specialists in delivering Commercial and Data Centre projects, whilst also operating in the Education, Retail and Pharmaceutical sectors. Due to continuous growth, our client has secured a number of key project wins and their 2025 turnover is expected to be in excess of £500m and have no plans on slowing down.
The Role:
- Leading and/or supporting the end-to-end bid process, including opportunity and bid deliverable identification, qualification and proposal submission.
- Coordinating with the Estimating Team undertaking full Technical Review of all quotations received.
- Organises and leads the internal Bid Kick Off and Mid-Bid progress meetings with all stakeholders having first identified and prepared a bid overview and deliverables.
- Developing and executing bid strategies on a bid-by-bid basis that align with the company’s goals and client requirements.
- Day to day coordination and collaboration with various teams and departments including Estimating, Commercial, Legal, Digital Engineering, HSEQ, Planning, ESG, Design and Operations to ensure all aspects of a bid are addressed and responded to on time and in the required format.
- Managing bid resources and timelines to ensure on-time and high-quality proposal submissions.
- Preparing for and participating in PQQ, Mid Bid, and Post Tender client interviews and taking a proactive role in the timely closing out for all pre and post tender TQ’s and Clarifications.
- Attendance to internal bid settlement meetings and contributing to the presentation of project scope, risk and opportunity to the Senior Management Team.
- Ensuring compliance with client requirements, regulations and industry standards.
- Identification of bid Risk and Opportunity including Value Engineering.
- Leads and coordinates the entire bid deliverables process, including reviewing bid invitations, supporting bid/no-bid analysis and establishing timelines.
- Working with the estimating teams to develop competitive pricing strategies that align with bid requirements and profitability targets.
- Continuously refine and improve bid processes, templates and best practices to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
Ideal Candidate:
- Experience managing M&E large-scale contracts
- Previous experience in a similar role with an engineering overview
- Experience and understanding of multi-disciplinary design processes and design coordination
- Strong understanding of the Pre-Contract tender process
- Mechanically biased background is essential.
- Proficiency in using MS Office packages and Canva presentation software proficiency essential
- Good mechanical and associated systems knowledge understanding including (but not limited to) CHWS, LTHW, Processed Water, HVAC, Ventilation, Leak Detection, Public Health and BMS, systems etc.
