We are a leading provider of advanced gas detection systems, supplying cutting-edge fixed and portable instruments to industrial and research sectors across the UK and internationally. Due to continued growth, we are looking for a skilled Gas Detection Engineer to join our team.

The Role

This is a hands-on engineering role where you will be responsible for the installation, servicing, and calibration of gas detection equipment. While full training will be provided, prior experience in commercial gas detection, electronics, or instrumentation would be highly beneficial. The role is primarily office-based, but site visits and occasional overnight stays may be required.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Installing, servicing, and calibrating gas detection equipment
  • Diagnosing faults and carrying out repairs, including basic wiring and soldering
  • Reading and interpreting technical specifications, manuals, and procedures
  • Producing accurate reports, calibration certificates, and documentation
  • Liaising professionally with customers, suppliers, and colleagues

What We Are Looking For

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented engineer with strong technical and practical skills. The ideal candidate will have:

  • A degree, HND, or equivalent qualification in a relevant engineering discipline
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong IT proficiency, including experience with MS Office and other relevant software
  • Good organisational skills with the ability to manage time effectively
  • Practical experience using hand and power tools
  • A flexible and adaptable approach to work
  • A full UK driving licence and passport

Desirable Experience and Qualifications

  • Previous experience in commercial gas detection
  • Field-based or customer-facing engineering experience
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001:2015 quality management systems
  • CompEx qualification in a relevant application
