An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Cardiac Physiologist based at University Hospital Ayr.
What You Will Do:
- An opportunity has arisen within Clinical Physiology for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to work within this progressive multidisciplinary department. The role provides Cardiology and Respiratory services.
- Candidates should have experience of and be competent in a wide range of invasive and non-invasive cardiology investigations, including diagnostic cardiac catheterisation.
- Post holder should have basic Echocardiography and Brady Device follow up knowledge.
- The post holder will take a lead role in Exercise Tolerance Tests providing input to the Chest Pain Assessment Unit and Rapid Access Chest Pain Clinics, also analyse and report a high number of 24 – 72 hour monitors which includes input to the Physiologist led Arrhythmia Pathway Service.
- The candidate would be required to have excellent communication skills and have supervisory skills in order to appropriately manage junior staff.
- Potholder would be required to work closely with cardiology and specialist nurse colleagues.
Knowledge, Training And/or Experience Required To Do The Job:
- BSc in Clinical Physiology or equivalent
- ILS
- Competent in a range of standard Cardiac investigations
- Competent in diagnostic cardiac catheterisation investigations
- Skilled in Ambulatory analysis
- Knowledge of maintenance of patient data bases
- Knowledge of COSHH legislation
- Good interpersonal skills
- Ability to work as a team member
Hours: 37 hours per week, post holder would be required to work at both Ayr and Crosshouse hospitals.
Driving Licence: A car licence is preferable for this role.
