Where will you be working? At M Group Telecom, we’re enabling and enhancing telecom networks, playing a lead role in the delivery of our tech enabled future. We deliver full network cycle services for fixed, private and mobile operators. Private networks - We find the best technology, manage assets and refresh systems. With 24/7 network operations, we keep things running smoothly, while operating comprehensive network repair and maintenance to keep everything in top shape.
What will you be doing? You’ll be responsible for the installation, commissioning, and maintenance of equipment across various site types, including substations, converter stations, control centres, data centres, and customer locations. You’ll mentor Field Engineers, supporting their technical development through hands-on guidance and training. You’ll ensure compliance with Health & Safety and quality standards, perform end-to-end circuit testing, and collaborate with engineering teams to plan and execute safe deployments. Responsibilities include fault analysis, site surveys, audits, and acting as Principal Contractor Site Representative when required. You’ll maintain tools, vehicles, and PPE, complete mandatory training, and report improvement opportunities to management. Advanced H&S knowledge (IOSH/NEBOSH) is preferred; training can be provided.
What you’ll bring? You’ll primarily work on projects across the South of England, with occasional travel to the Midlands or North—so a full UK driving licence and flexibility are essential. You’ll bring hands-on experience with PDH, SDH, CWDM, DWDM, and telecoms equipment, plus strong fault-finding, configuration, and leadership skills. Familiarity with FOX Mux, routers, switches, power systems, and schematic interpretation is highly desirable.
