An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Dental Health Support Worker to join the Designed to Smile Team in Cwm Taf Morgannwg UHB. You will be based at Glanrhyd Hospital. This post is 28 hours per week, 8.30 am - 4 pm, TERM TIME ONLY, working Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday.
We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic individual to support the Oral Health Improvement Practitioner in implementing and monitoring the supervised tooth brushing programme in schools and pre-schools in Cwm Taf Morgannwg UHB. The role involves administrative tasks, data collection using computer software, delivering and collating parental consents, and monitoring oral health resources.
The role requires flexibility, including daily travel between sites visiting schools and pre-schools throughout Cwm Taf Morgannwg UHB, and communication with parents, educational staff, and health professionals. You may need to drive CTMUHB vehicles.
Main duties include:- Supporting the Oral Health Improvement Practitioner in engaging with groups and educational settings to deliver the 'Designed to Smile' programme.
- Building and maintaining relationships with stakeholders, including families, health professionals, and educational staff.
- Communicating with parents and staff to gain consent for participation.
- Overcoming communication barriers with parents/carers with health conditions.
- Supporting the delivery of resources and quality assurance checks within the programme.
- Participating in health promotion events and activities.
- Assisting with administrative duties and data collection.

Essential qualifications and experience:
