The community post covid service in Enfield has a maternity leave fixed term vacancy for a dynamic passionate post covid physiotherapist. This role involves supporting patients with long covid to manage their symptoms and improve quality of life.

Main duties of the job:
  • To hold full responsibility for own caseload within the PCS specialty, undertaking all aspects of clinical duties as an autonomous practitioner, working without supervision and taking full accountability for role and work.
  • To carry out a holistic assessment both in and outside the scope of physiotherapy practice, including the interpreting of appropriate investigations such as X-Rays, MRI scans, Blood Tests, clinic letters and reports or other diagnostics.
  • Analyse the results of the investigations to assist diagnoses of aspects of PCS of a highly complex nature. To use this information to aid clinical judgement in selecting from a range of treatment options the most effective way to manage the care of these patients.
  • To assess and treat complex Breathing Pattern Disorders and feed this information back to the MDT.
  • To work at the most advanced level within and outside the scope of physiotherapy practice, triaging, diagnosing and managing patients with diverse presentations and highly complex physical and psychological conditions. This includes patients with serious life threatening pathologies.
  • To give an expert professional opinion to referring GPs and other healthcare professions as required.
Person specification:
  • BSc Physiotherapy
  • Evidence from CPD portfolio of ongoing relevant postgraduate training both theoretical and practical to an advanced level
  • HCPC Registered
  • Minimum of 9 years post grad experience of which 5 years at Senior level in the management of complex and chronic conditions.
  • Experience in implementing evidence-based practice and protocol development
  • Experience in clinical audit
  • Able to process, manage and communicate highly complex information to colleagues and patients who may be emotionally distressed or antagonistic.
  • Advanced level of expertise in the management of multifactorial problems.
  • Up to date clinical skills across a broad spectrum of approaches to the management of PCS problems.
