About us: Institutional Banking and Markets (IB&M) is responsible for managing the Group's relationships with major corporate, government and institutional investors, and provides a full range of capital raising, transactional and risk management products and services. IB&M's purpose is to build Australia's future economy and our ambition is to be Australia's leading corporate and institutional banking franchise. IB&M also performs an important internal role for the Group by providing global markets, trade finance, corporate and institutional lending to other CBA business units that allows them to capture opportunities with business and retail customers.
Picture yourself in the team: The London Branch Chief Operating Office constitutes a team responsible for the execution of a range of operational, strategic and business transformation initiatives for the Branch. The team is well connected within IB&M and works with business partners across divisions to execute the IB&M strategy in the Branch. This role is a 12 months fixed-term contract (maternity cover) and reports into the Chief Operating Officer UK Branch and US Markets (COO) and will be a member of the Global Institutional Banking Coverage division within IB&M.
Do work that matters: Your role is to provide administrative and logistics support to the Global Markets (GM) and Support Services (SS) teams in the Branch. Your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
- Providing administrative/secretarial support including travel, booking meetings, taking and writing minutes, processing expenses and invoices, preparing meeting materials/presentations, annual leave enquiries and other tasks as determined by the COO.
- Assisting the COO and Head of London Markets with preparation of reports as requested.
- Maintain operating procedure documents, maintain SharePoint sites and other Trade reporting obligations.
- Assisting GM and SS with the onboarding of new staff and the associated administration in the HR systems, Sidekick and Workday also with the logistics within the Branch.
- Emphasising the importance of corporate and regulatory compliance to the GM and SS teams to ensure adherence.
- Assisting the COO to implement new processes and procedures as required by Audit, Risk Management, or outside regulators.
- Troubleshooting for internal systems, desktop applications and procedures and assisting the GM and SS teams to adopt new technology and improved ways of working.
- Ensure that visitors to the Branch are aware of their rights to work in the UK and the associated limitations.
- Provide support to visitors to ensure they can perform their function whilst in the London Branch.
- Assist with the coordination of events for both internal and external attendees, including the management of logistics associated with international travel itineraries and events.

- Previous experience in a financial markets, corporate or investment banking environment is highly desirable.
- The role is based in a dealing room.
- Excellent written communication skills as demonstrated through meeting minutes is essential.
- Strong interpersonal and collaborative skills and the ability to build a strong rapport with colleagues throughout the Branch.
- Strong problem-solving skills and demonstrable initiative.
- High level of professional presentation.
- Experience with generative Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools is highly regarded.
