A well-established and growing SME based in Lichfield is seeking an experienced Accounts Payable Manager to join their finance team on a full-time, onsite basis. This is a fantastic opportunity for a proactive and detail-oriented finance professional to take ownership of the purchase-to-pay function and play a pivotal role in process improvement as the business continues its growth journey.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage all aspects of the Accounts Payable function, ensuring timely and accurate processing of supplier invoices across multiple currencies.
- Maintain and reconcile the purchase ledger and cashbook, ensuring completeness and accuracy.
- Support month-end and year-end close procedures, collaborating closely with the Financial Controller and wider finance team.
- Take a key role in supporting the annual audit process, ensuring compliance and timely provision of audit evidence.
- Drive improvements in the P2P (procure-to-pay) process, contributing to the development and implementation of a new system.
- Oversee supplier payments, managing relationships and resolving any discrepancies or disputes.
- Support with payroll processing in collaboration with external providers, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.
- Utilise accounting systems such as Sage 50, QuickBooks, and other ERP platforms to maintain accurate financial records and reporting.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have
- Proven experience in a senior Accounts Payable or Purchase Ledger role, ideally within an SME environment.
- Strong knowledge of multi-currency transactions, month-end/year-end procedures, and audit support.
- Demonstrable track record of process improvement within the finance function.
- Proficiency in Sage 50, QuickBooks, and experience with ERP systems.
- Excellent attention to detail, a hands-on approach, and strong interpersonal skills.
- Experience in payroll is highly advantageous.
