An enthusiastic Application/Database Support Engineer/Analyst with a proven background supporting business critical applications (including use of SQL queries) is sought to join this established and successful Glasgow organisation who are currently going through a major application upgrade and digital transformation.
The Senior Application Support Analyst will play a key role in the support, maintenance and ongoing enhancement of business critical, database applications as well as leading and mentoring colleagues too. They should be keen to utilise their own ideas to add additional functionality and further improve performance of the key applications.
You will probably be an existing IT Support Technician or Application Support Analyst with a good knowledge of databases (e.g. SQL Server or Access) and will have proven trouble-shooting and problem-solving skills. You will also have proven experience writing database queries (e.g. SQL or Excel queries) for data analysis purposes and have some exposure to database reporting tools such as Tableau, Power BI or similar, to build/create and maintain dashboards.
Any exposure to applications including direct debits, BACS, memberships etc. is advantageous. A strong communicator, you will liaise with colleagues from across the business including users to understand the needs (present and future) of the team and business and help to deliver these successfully. You will also take the lead in the small technical team, supporting and mentoring others and helping further their technical skills too.
The friendly, enthusiastic team are based from a vibrant location near Glasgow (G40). Salary dependent on experience but likely to be £35,000 to 42,000 + good bonus, pension, holiday, flexible working hours and a great work/life balance.
