Sheridan Maine is looking for a proactive and technically strong Audit Senior to lead audit engagements from planning through to completion. You’ll manage client relationships, supervise and mentor junior team members, and ensure audits are delivered to a high standard within deadlines and budget. This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified professional to step into a leadership role with real client impact.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead audit planning meetings and assess engagement risks.
  • Manage audit fieldwork, including supervising Audit Semi Seniors and trainees.
  • Review and finalise audit files, ensuring compliance with relevant standards.
  • Build strong client relationships and manage communication throughout the audit process.
  • Prepare and review financial statements and supporting schedules.
  • Identify control weaknesses and provide recommendations for improvement.
  • Monitor progress against budgets and report any variances to management.
  • Assist in the training and development of junior team members.

Qualifications:

  • ACA / ACCA qualified (or equivalent).
  • 2-4+ years of external audit experience in a practice environment.
  • Ability to lead a team and manage multiple assignments effectively.
  • Strong attention to detail, analytical thinking, and organisational skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Proficiency in audit software.
