As a Divisional Communications Officer, your role will be to help spread the word and the key messages of the charity, to help best support the projects that they run for those that need it the most. Reporting into the Media Manager, you’ll work as part of a team to develop stories, campaigns, and high-profile media events. This role supports colleagues across the East & West Midlands.
The role:
- Promoting the work of the charity across media and digital channels.
- Identify, research, and write case studies for media use to highlight the charity's work.
- Build and maintain relationships with Divisional Leaders within the charity.
- Provide communication advice to Divisional Leaders on complex or sensitive issues, with support from the Head of Communications and PR.
- Deliver charity news stories to regional and local media.
- Support National media campaigns.
- Contribute stories and articles for the intranet.
- Assist with out-of-hours media support as required.
Skills & Experience Required:
- Proven media relations experience, ideally in a large or charity organization.
- Experience in creating high-quality digital content and managing social media platforms.
- Strong research skills for sourcing content, briefings, and case studies.
- Ability to generate wide media coverage to support campaigns.
- Excellent interpersonal skills for stakeholder influence and relationship building.
- Experience in brand and reputation management.
- Knowledge of media strategy.
- Attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
