The predicted salary is between 10000 - 12000 £ per year.

Hours: 22.5hrs per week (3 days out of 7 days)

Location: HUB/Manchester Road Shop, Huddersfield

£14,325 for 22.5hrs (£12.21 per hour)

Our shops are also an essential part of the local community – a place for people not just to donate or shop, but to build careers, volunteer and support our cause. They’re also a vital way for us to share the magic of Forget Me Not far and wide.

As retail assistant, your role will be to support the shop manager and assistant manager in running one of our shops. In this really hands-on role, you will work with a team of volunteers to achieve sales targets and maintain excellent merchandising standards. As one of our ambassadors in the community, you’ll also help us deliver class-leading customer service, while also complying with hospice and retail policies and procedures and security, health and safety standards in the shop.

Job Description

Responsible To: Shop Manager

Role Summary

Our vision is to deliver pioneering care through pregnancy, childhood and loss, wherever families need us, whatever the future holds. This role supports our vision by providing support to the shop manager and assistant manager in effectively sorting, displaying and selling items. Be the Forget Me Not Children’s Hospice’s ambassador in the local community delivering our organisations key messages and promoting all aspects of the charity within the local area.

Main Duties and Key Responsibilities

  • Help achieve sales and KPI targets
  • Sort, steam and price donated stock
  • Help to maintain high standards of merchandising
  • Work on the till
  • Ensure the shop is kept clean and tidy
  • Assist with booking in deliveries and collections
  • Assist shop with promoting and processing gift aid
  • Be a key holder, opening and closing when required
  • Complete mandatory training when requested
  • Any other adhoc duties

We expect all staff to undertake any other duties within the scope, spirit and purpose of the job, the title of the post and its grading, as requested by your line manager or their higher level of authority on behalf of the charity.

  • Accomplished administrator; with excellent IT skills

This role will involve weekend work so flexibility is essential.
