This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a sports or coaching background who is looking to positively impact young learners and support their physical and emotional development through structured physical activity.
Role Overview: In this role, you will play a key part in supporting the PE department, ensuring students are fully engaged in sports and fitness activities. You’ll assist with lesson delivery, equipment setup, and promoting a positive sporting culture within the school. The ideal candidate will be someone who enjoys working in an educational setting and is confident in leading and supporting students during physical tasks.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work closely with PE teachers to assist in the preparation and delivery of lessons.
- Provide one-to-one or small group support for pupils who require additional encouragement.
- Help manage and maintain sports equipment and facilities.
- Support the organisation and supervision of extracurricular clubs and sports events.
- Promote positive attitudes towards physical activity and teamwork.
- Encourage inclusion and participation in physical education for all students.
- Monitor student engagement and report any concerns to teaching staff.
Job Requirements:
- A background in physical education, sports coaching, or fitness is highly desirable.
- Experience working with children or young people in a school or coaching setting.
- A positive, proactive, and enthusiastic approach to student support.
- Good organisational skills and a passion for health and wellbeing.
- Ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff.
- Have an updated CV and an enhanced DBS registered to the update service (or be willing to apply for one).
