The Employment and Skills Team are seeking to recruit an Employability Coordinator to join our fantastic team to deliver projects to support people in drug and alcohol treatment to secure employment. We are looking for applicants with energy, passion and drive to inspire and motivate people into employment; applicants who can balance a busy work schedule, meet challenging targets and ensure a quality service is delivered.

You will be a dynamic, responsive and customer focused individual who can deliver results for the individuals and employers that we work with. You will be committed to partnership working supporting to embed the service with key partners via our network of Working Well Hubs. Alongside managing a jobseeker caseload, you will source and engage with local employers to secure employment opportunities, apprenticeships and work placements for our clients. You will ensure employer expectations are met in providing talented, skilled and enthusiastic candidates for their vacancies.

You will need to be able to:

  • Be a ‘Job Coach’ to jobseekers to prepare them for work and assist them through recruitment processes and into sustainable employment.
  • Effectively manage a client caseload using a ‘person-centred’ approach to help them progress towards their desired goals.
  • Develop a base of employer contacts and strong personal relationships to become the first point of contact for any potential vacancies.
  • Source and secure real job opportunities, apprenticeships and work placements for your jobseeker caseload and the wider team.
  • Provide in-work support and visit the new recruits in post; review progress with their supervisors and provide updates to the Programme Manager.
  • Support in celebrating the successes from the project by providing examples of those achievements in the form of recovery case studies or profiles.
  • Provide data and monitoring information to the Programme Manager and as required by our funders and partners.

The successful candidate will have excellent organisational and record management skills in order to document all interactions and progression accurately with attention to detail to meet the obligations within our funding. If you think you have the personality and initiative to help move residents with health conditions and disabilities forward towards employment in terms of sociability, confidence, skills and abilities then get in touch. You will be helping service users to deal with their own personal challenges and support their journey towards and into work in a systematic yet creative way.
