We are currently recruiting a Building Surveyor role for a large managed services provider on behalf of the local council in the Derby area.
As a Building Surveyor, you will be working across a wide range of high value capital projects including major capital programmes for Housing. Work includes retrofit works, planned maintenance, cyclical maintenance, large responsive maintenance work and asbestos management, ensuring all projects are appropriately surveyed, specified, scheduled, procured and contract managed.
The post holder will be required to lead on capital projects (including Retrofit works) managing all aspects of the work from start to final accounts. This will include:
- Preparation of tender documentation
- Preparation of bills of quantities
- Design specifications
- Valuations on contracts
- Measurement of works on site
- Carrying out the PD role under CDM
- Preparation of claims contracts
- Schedules of rates
- Small estimates for various clients
You must have a good understanding of all retrofit grant requirements to deliver a compliant and successful scheme, including PAS requirements, Trustmark requirements, Retrofit Designer/assessor and Co-ordinator roles.
You must be confident with the use of IT and capable of navigating through MS Office, Outlook and have knowledge and skills in the use of databases and AutoCAD.
You must be confident to work independently although support from the broader team is always available. We require dynamic, innovative and forward-thinking people to join our team. It is preferable that you have some experience of working in a person-centred environment or with older and more vulnerable client groups, although full induction and ongoing training is provided.
