Position Summary

August 25 – December 19, 2025 (Fall 2025 Semester). Teach one to two sections of COMM 105 Fundamentals of Oral Communication (27 students max enrollment). The course is a study of basic principles of human communication. Modes such as: Intra- and interpersonal, small group, and public speaking are examined. Students will develop skills in sharing information and reasoned argument, and examine the ethical responsibilities of oral communicators. Meets the QuEST Oral Communication requirement.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and teach lessons to cover course material; provide feedback and grades in a timely manner.

Qualifications

  • Professional experience; relevant graduate degree; teaching experience preferred.
  • Candidate should have a commitment of excellence in teaching in a Christian Liberal Arts setting.

Messiah’s communication major helps the student to further their knowledge in the general field of communication with the flexibility to take courses in areas that interest them most. Learning to apply theories effectively and ethically in a wide range of communication specialties, students graduate with the foundation needed to pursue communication-related careers or further their education through graduate studies.
