About the Role: We are looking for enthusiastic and dedicated playworkers to join our team, supporting children under 16 with special needs in a vibrant and inclusive adventure playground setting. The role involves creating a safe, engaging, and fun environment where children can explore, play, and develop.
Main Responsibilities:
- Supervise and engage with children in play activities, ensuring proper ratio.
- Support children with a range of additional needs, including medical and learning difficulties.
- Assist with physical activities and sensory play, adapting to the needs of individual children.
- Provide care and support to children, including assistance with feeding and personal care if required.
- Ensure all play areas are safe and clean, adhering to health and safety regulations.
Ideal Candidate:
- Experience working with children with special needs.
- Comfortable managing complex needs, including medical care (e.g., tube feeding) and physical assistance (e.g., using hoists).
- Energetic, patient, and passionate about making a positive difference in children's lives.
Qualification Required: NVQ Level 2/3 in SEN/Childcare (or equivalent).
Working Hours: Mainly afternoons for afterschool clubs and during half terms (hours may vary based on scheduling).
Hours Per Week: Approximately 20-35 hours (flexible depending on program needs).
