About the opportunity

We have an exciting opportunity for a Qualified Maintenance Technician (QT) to join our team in our Runcorn Distribution Centre as a Senior Maintenance Technician. This role involves responsibility for Planned Preventative Maintenance, system breakdowns, defect repair, and general upkeep of the depot facilities and automation, ensuring high standards of system cleanliness and condition.

Responsibilities include managing on-site projects, technical repairs, technician workloads, and ensuring all maintenance of high-volume picking machinery and ancillary equipment is up to date and operational. Immediate response to breakdowns during production hours is required. The role also involves engaging and managing contractors, including obtaining permits, risk assessments, and method statements.

Salary: £ per hour

Working Pattern

  • Hours per week: Working over three shifts, Monday to Friday.
  • Shifts: 06:00 to 14:00, 14:00 to 22:00, 22:00 to 06:00.
  • One Sunday every 3 weeks, 06:00 to 14:00.

Skills/Experience

  • GCSE level C or above with minimum NVQ Level 3 in Electrical/Mechanical/Pneumatic Qualification
  • Experience in a technical maintenance department
  • Experience working on automated conveyor systems
  • Good understanding of Health and Safety policies
  • Technical knowledge of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic equipment
  • Understanding of automated equipment and controls
  • Electrical/Mechanical skills
  • Root cause analysis skills

Desirable:

  • Experience in Pharma Industry
  • Experience managing a technical team
  • Ability to read schematic diagrams
  • PLC Qualifications
