To be part of a busy industrial maintenance and project delivery team within the nuclear industry. Although the position is mainly based at the Preston facility, it is expected that the successful candidate could be asked to work within the other UKNNL sites. The salary for this position will be determined based on the candidate's skills, qualifications and relevant experience.

Main Responsibilities for Electrician:
  • Perform routine Engineering, Inspection, Maintenance & Testing on industrial plant and equipment.
  • Responsible for carrying out safe, effective and controlled isolations of Electrical Plant.
  • Comply with company/site standards and expectations of behaviour and performance at all times.
  • Responsible for completing job cards in accordance with site standards to ensure that good quality maintenance history is recorded.
  • Perform breakdown and recovery maintenance on plant and equipment.
  • Provide support to project and improvement work.
  • Provide support to the facility in the installation, modification and commissioning of electrical equipment.
  • Responsible for checking and fully understanding the Maintenance Instructions/Proof Tests that they are working to.
Essential Criteria for Electrician:
  • Time served recognised apprenticeship in an electrical engineering discipline.
  • Demonstrable experience in maintenance of process plant and equipment.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings and work with maintenance documentation.
  • Team player with effective communication skills.
  • Flexible approach to learning new skills and self-development.
  • BS7671 18th Edition.
  • Ability to obtain SC level security clearance (this includes but is not limited to identity, employment, financial and criminal record checks plus 5 years' worth of UK residency).
Desirable Criteria for Electrician:
  • Classified or Monitored worker.
  • Electrical Distribution Systems.
  • C&G 2391 or EAL 4337/4338.
