With a new blood cancer diagnosis every 27 seconds worldwide, Cure Leukaemia funds research nurses and clinical roles at blood cancer centres across the UK, providing patients with access to innovative and potentially life-saving treatments through clinical trials. By supporting these roles, Cure Leukaemia facilitates potentially life-saving advancements in blood cancer therapies nationally but also contributes to global progress and hope for those impacted by the disease worldwide.
In 2024, The ATICUS network was announced, forming a pioneering collaboration between 11 leading UK Children’s Hospitals to revolutionise clinical transplant trial access for children battling blood cancer.
Role Overview
We are seeking a talented and creative Graphic Designer to join our dynamic team. This role will be pivotal in helping us communicate our message, drive engagement, and enhance our brand identity across multiple platforms. The ideal candidate will have a strong portfolio demonstrating creative flair, technical expertise, and a passion for creating impactful designs that resonate with diverse audiences.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and Branding:
- Develop and produce creative concepts for campaigns, digital content, print materials, and events.
- Ensure all designs align with Cure Leukaemia’s brand guidelines and values.
- Digital Content Creation:
- Design engaging graphics for social media, email marketing, and websites.
- Collaborate with the marketing team to create motion graphics and video content for social media.
- Print Design:
- Design materials such as brochures, flyers, posters, and event collateral.
- Liaise with printers to ensure high-quality production.
- Collaboration:
- Work closely with the marketing and wider Cure Leukaemia team to understand project objectives and deliver compelling visual solutions.
- Contribute to brainstorming sessions and support team initiatives with creative input.
- Template Development:
- Build templates and reusable design assets to streamline social media, email, and web content creation.
Administrative Support:
Maintaining the design asset library, coordinate and placing orders with suppliers.
Brand Consistency:
Ensure all design outputs align with Cure Leukaemia’s brand guidelines, identity and values.
- Project Management:
Manage multiple design projects, ensuring deadlines are met without compromising quality.
- Keep up-to-date with design trends and tools to bring fresh ideas to the table.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Proven experience as a designer with a strong portfolio showcasing digital and print work.
Strong artworking ability, ensuring collateral is print ready
- Proficiency in design software such as Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, After Effects).
- Experience with Canva or other template-based design tools.
- Knowledge of video editing and motion graphics is a plus.
- Ability to interpret briefs and translate complex concepts into clear, engaging designs.
- Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality work.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
