Are you ready to take your career to new heights? Join the Imager Electronics team at SSTL and work on exciting space missions from LEO to GEO and beyond. As an engineer at SSTL, you'll be involved in every stage of a mission, from concept to AIT, launch, commissioning, and operational life. This is a true cradle-to-grave experience that will give you the chance to see your work in space in a rapid timescale!

As part of the Optical Payloads group, you'll collaborate closely with other members of the Optical Department and the core satellite mission team, interacting with technical leads across multiple disciplines to create innovative solutions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design cutting-edge electronics for SSTL Optical Payloads
  • Develop digital and analogue hardware for the space environment
  • Capture schematics and design at the board level
  • Perform circuit simulations as needed
  • Ensure designs are ready for manufacture and testing
  • Design Electronics Ground Support Equipment
  • Author technical documents, including assembly and test procedures, reports, and technical descriptions
  • Maintain technical solutions, budgets, and schedules
  • Interface and make trade-offs at the system and subsystem levels
  • Work closely within a core project team
What We're Looking For:
  • Proven experience in electronics design
  • Familiarity with Mentor tools is a plus
  • Experience in mixed signal design
  • Proficiency in circuit-level debugging and testing
  • Knowledge of scripting languages like Python, TCL, or similar
  • Understanding of FPGA design in VHDL
  • Experience with lab test equipment
