We are seeking a motivated and ambitious Commercial Executive to join our high-performing commercial team at Retail Week. This is an exciting opportunity for a driven individual looking to progress their career in B2B media and event sales within a market-leading brand.

As a Commercial Executive, you will play a vital role in driving revenue growth by identifying and converting new business opportunities, nurturing client relationships, and maximising the value of our existing accounts. You’ll work across our leading portfolio of in-person events and digital content, supporting our mission to serve and inspire the UK retail industry.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Proactively generating, nurturing, and closing new business opportunities across the full Retail Week portfolio
  • Building and managing a pipeline of new and existing clients, focusing on customer retention and growing average contract value (ACV)
  • Responsible for hitting personal target, as well as helping the team to hit their overall target
  • Owning and developing an account list within defined tech solution verticals
  • Re-engaging and rebuilding relationships with lapsed clients
  • Supporting existing retention clients, and identifying upsell and cross-sell opportunities
  • Creating and delivering a sales plan to meet personal and team revenue targets
  • Using Salesforce CRM to manage leads, track opportunities, and provide accurate forecasts
  • Representing Retail Week at industry events and client meetings as a brand ambassador
  • Ensuring a high standard of customer service throughout the sales process

What you’ll need:

  • Proven experience in a commercial sales role including hitting targets in a fast-paced highly competitive industry, preferably in B2B sales
  • Can demonstrate a keen interest in retail, media and/or events
  • Experience in interacting with clients face-to-face at meetings or events is desirable but not essential
  • Excellent written and verbal stakeholder management and communication skills with the ability to influence senior decision makers
  • A self-starter who is enthusiastic, proactive and results-oriented with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, target-driven environment
  • A curious mindset who is eager to learn and develop sales techniques and knowledge of the retail sector
  • Have a collaborative approach with an ethos to work cross-functionally and contribute to wider team goals
  • Strong organisational and prioritisation skills, with excellent attention to detail
  • Professional, trustworthy, and committed to delivering a great experience for clients and internal stakeholders
  • Proficient with CRM tools such as Salesforce or similar
  • Ability to have some flexibility in working hours to attend industry events
