Wood is recruiting for a Lead Flow Assurance Engineer to join its Production Optimisation team within the Digital Consulting business unit. This position offers hybrid work flexibility and is open to applicants from across the UK, ideally those who can easily commute to our Aberdeen or Staines office.

The Role

This role is to manage key projects, develop technical proficiency within the company, assist in new opportunities, and interface with key clients. You will have a solid technical background and be comfortable being a primary point of contact with senior clients and specialists. You will primarily supervise senior flow assurance/process consultants and should possess excellent interpersonal skills and management experience.

To support continued growth within the Production Optimisation team in the UK, we are searching for a driven, solution-oriented, and creative Lead Flow Assurance Engineer with technical knowledge in thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, transport phenomena, and people leadership skills to play a leading role in both traditional oil and gas and energy transition markets. As a Lead Engineer, you will lead studies and projects ranging from conceptual to detailed engineering and operational support. You will have the opportunity to be involved in business development activities and work as part of a global team. Required Experience & Qualifications

  • Recognized qualification in a relevant engineering discipline or extensive experience in a related field, demonstrating the ability to perform at or above a degree-qualified engineer level.
  • An advanced degree in multiphase flow, fluid dynamics, heat transfer, or applied mathematics is desirable but not required.
  • Significant flow assurance and process experience in the Oil and Gas industry with a strong technical background.
  • Proven track record managing process and flow assurance studies.
  • Experience coaching junior flow assurance and process engineers.
  • Proficiency with major flow assurance software such as OLGA, Pipesim, Multi-flash, Leda Flow, etc.
  • Good understanding of process engineering and simulation using Hysys and/or Unisim.
  • Knowledge of HAZOP, process safety, and risk assessment.
  • Local market knowledge is advantageous.
