JOB SCOPE AND MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Support the Head of Finance with aspects of the accounting function of Luxottica Retail North Europe.
- Assist stores with all finance-related queries and general assistance as required by other departments.
- Communicate effectively with our Global Business Services team in Italy.
- Ensure new stores are set up with PDQs and cashbooks in advance of their opening.
- Liaise with other departments within UK Head Office to review their monthly spend.
- Support the Finance team during month-end activities with accruals and prepayments workings.
- Manage Finance admin activities (calendars, postage, documents archiving, invoices and files).
- Work closely with AP department to guarantee a smooth PTP process for Finance related expenses.
AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITIES AND RELATED ACTIVITIES:
- P&L Reconciliation and analysis β support month-end activities for monthly accruals and review with internal stakeholders.
- Balance Sheet Reconciliation β both monthly & quarterly reconciliations in line with local and corporate requirements.
- Banking β Setting up all stores with PDQ machines & Banking books.
- Eye Test accounting β NHS & corporate eyecare accounting, reconciling & credit control.
- General administration β covers archiving, stores paperwork e.g. vouchers & petty cash and other projects as they arise.
- PTP support to Global Business Services β covers PO management, collection of suppliersβ invoices, assuring internal controls and procedures are met.
TECHNICAL SKILLS:
- Recommended that the candidate has an accounting/finance degree or certificate or equivalent.
- Proficient in the use of the Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.
- Knowledge in the use of SAP HANA is advantageous but not necessary.
- Previous internship experience in Finance (FP&A, accounting) highly desirable, but not necessary.
