GMB's North-West & Irish Region is seeking applications for a Support Worker from committed individuals to join their team based at our Holywood office, Northern Ireland. GMB is one of the largest trade unions in the UK; we’re proud to represent over half a million people from across the professional spectrum and all walks of life.
The successful postholders will be actively engaged in supporting the region to build and grow our membership by assisting the Union's Organisers in the recruitment and retention of members, helping to build our branch networks and engage with members across the region.
The successful candidates will:
- Possess a flexible attitude and a full range of organising, recruitment and administrative skills as outlined in the job description.
- Be able to work on their own initiative to undertake duties in a professional and efficient manner.
- Have an understanding of the GMB Union, other Trade Unions, as well as commitment to the wider Trade Union and Labour Movement.
- Be prepared to work as a team, displaying strong interpersonal skills and an ability to communicate effectively in challenging environments.
- Display energy, enthusiasm, resilience, commitment, and an ability to use initiative.
- Possess the ability to work well independently but also be a real team player.
