The Vacancy
Hours and work pattern to be agreed upon appointment (Monday to Friday). This is a 39-week term-time contract commencing w/c 25 Aug 2025.

Role:
The post holder will be a member of the Action Mental Health post-primary schools counselling team, providing safe and confidential talking therapy to young people seeking therapeutic support.
You will have (essential):
- Diploma, Degree or Masters, or equivalent counselling or psychotherapy qualification as regulated by the RQF or SCQF and from a recognised or relevant validating organisation e.g., Counselling and Psychotherapy Central Awarding Body (CPCAB).
- Accredited member with BACP, IACP, NCPS or equivalent, or committed to achieve within 12 months.
- A minimum of 100 hours post-qualification, clinically supervised practice in counselling children and young people up to age 18.
- OR a minimum of 100 hours post-qualification experience working with adults and having successfully completed the Level 5 CPCAB Diploma in Counselling Children and Young People.
- Experience of working clinically within statutory and/or voluntary agencies.
- A full current driving licence and access to a car is essential. Consideration will be given to alternative travelling arrangements for applicants with disabilities who cannot hold a licence.
