This leading Software provider is looking to bolster their engineering team with an experienced .Net Software Engineer. You will be working in their state-of-the-art offices in the heart of Guildford 5 days per week, close to the University and with excellent transport links to London and the surrounding areas in Surrey.
You will join a well-established business with decades of experience taking them to a market-leading position. Building on an impressive 2024, they are pushing towards 100 headcount and have the investment and product positioning to double this in the next 1-2 years. There is particular investment in the Engineering team as their products are scalable to other sectors, making it an exciting time to join.
Your new role
This is a BAU role, working on internal systems and preparing them for migration/modernisation. The split outlined is roughly 30% C# development (10% UI/Front End development), 30% database maintenance, and 40% supporting existing systems and business activities. It would best suit someone with ambitions to join a fast-growing company with great opportunities to move sideways into other greenfield project teams over time, or an experienced Developer that likes a mix of new development and maintenance/understanding of existing systems.
You will develop and support internal business processes: financial, client business management, and license control databases plus their associated intranet and internet systems interfaces. There is also scope for redesigning existing systems and implementing new systems from the ground up. The company controls the systems they build, meaning developers can be intrinsic with the user and understand their journey to build a better product. You will be working on real-time systems driven by large data sets, so Engineers with a background in R&D environments would fit well.
What you’ll need to succeed
You will ideally have a degree in a STEM or Computing discipline. We require 5+ years dedicated hands-on experience using:
- C#: (Web Application Programming, Visual Studio 2022, C#.NET MVC / .Net Core 8, Entity Framework, Webforms, Web APIs and Web Services REST/SOAP).
- SQL Server 2019/2022: (TSQL Queries, Stored Procedures/Functions, Views, Database Design, Database Administration, SSIS, SSRS).
Desirable Skills:
- Blazor (DevExpress controls)
- JavaScript Frameworks
- HTML5 (CSS, Bootstrap)
- GIT/Team Foundation Server
- WPF/MVVM
- ILS Web Server
- Azure Cloud Services
What you’ll get in return
You’ll work for a technology-focused company building innovative products. There’s an excellent rewards scheme in place including an annual bonus up to 25%, 10% pension match, private healthcare, 25 days holiday, and long-term sick cover. There is parking on site or a shuttle bus for train commuters to Guildford and a modern office space with excellent amenities.
