We are currently looking for a Production Controller to join us with strong organisation, problem solving and collaboration skills. Someone who has had experience with creating and managing a production schedule.

Belfast 5 days a week on site. Sole UK national applicants only (We are unable to offer sponsorship for this role).

Responsibilities
  • Short-Term Scheduling & Execution
    • Detailed Scheduling: Take the Master Production Schedule (MPS) and translate it into granular daily/weekly production schedules for specific work centers, assembly lines, or final assembly stations.
    • Work Order Management: Convert and release work orders (WOs) based on the validated production schedule, authorizing manufacturing activities.
    • Prioritization: Adjust priorities of tasks and work orders in real-time based on material availability, resource constraints, non-conformities, or urgent demands.
  • Monitoring & Control
    • Production Progress Tracking: Continuously monitor the progress of production against the schedule, identifying delays, bottlenecks, and deviations.
    • Performance Reporting: Generate and analyze KPIs related to production plan execution, work order completion, and delivery adherence. Prepare reports for daily/weekly production meetings.
    • Resource Monitoring: Control and monitor the availability of resources such as manpower (operators, white-collar), machines, and strategic tooling/jigs to ensure they align with the production plan.
  • Problem Solving & Recovery
    • Deviation Analysis & Corrective Actions: Investigate the root causes of production delays or issues (e.g., missing parts, quality defects, machine breakdowns) and propose immediate corrective actions.
    • Recovery Plan Development: Elaborate and implement short-term recovery plans when necessary, collaborating with relevant departments to mitigate impacts on delivery dates.
    • Non-Conformity Management: Support the resolution of non-conformities, ensuring that rework or repair activities are integrated into the production schedule.
  • Cross-Functional Coordination
    • Daily Production Meetings: Actively participate in and often lead daily production monitoring meetings, reporting on progress, parts availability, and supporting discussions to adjust priorities.
    • Interface with Logistics: Work very closely with Logistics to ensure timely material supply to the production line and manage material discrepancies.
    • Coordination with Support Functions: Liaise with Quality, Manufacturing Engineering, Methods, and Maintenance to resolve issues impacting production.
    • IT System Updates: Ensure official planning and scheduling tools (e.g., SAP, MES - Manufacturing Execution Systems) are updated with the current production status.
