Your new role

Systems Data Controller

Hybrid – 2 days on site at one of our TMC or depots

Permanent

As a Systems Data Controller at Hitachi Rail you will be responsible for correct data input, reports, administration and technical assistance to SAP PM /WH / SOROs. OS&M Systems Data Controller is responsible for ensuring the effective deployment of our Business System so our new fleet of trains can operate correctly from go live.

• Develop standards and guides relating to the input of data into SAP, including nomenclature, format etc.
• Define how best to use SAP to achieve the requirements of Operations / Engineering
• Liaise with stakeholders to define reports and other output required from SAP.
• Act as an SAP advanced user to provide technical assistance with the SAP system during business as usual.
• Configuration knowledge of SAP, to demand and maintain data integrity.
• Support the business team with innovative ideas and solutions to large scale data analysis and support.
• Work with the maintenance planning team to assist in optimising the company’s maintenance regime and assisting in development of European/World Class maintenance best practice in support of current and future contracts
• Work closely with Configuration Engineers to ensure train configuration is managed effectively
• Prepping the Update of Asset Tree within MMS with creation of material records for serialised parts.
• Updating the asset tree in terms of creation of and changes to the Functional locations.
• Checking, validating and investigating Material record data quality.
• Assisting with checking, validation of Asset tree structure with other Sap master data coordinator.
• Creation of campaigns as and when required by the project.
• Updating Task lists with regards to material usage ie planned materials working with Supply Chain.
• Cross checking any maintenance data input into the system by other team members.
• Referring any work done in the system to be crossed checked and peer reviewed by SAP engineers.
• Managing and populating all load files for mass change via LSMW as required by the Team.
• Assisting Centralised master data Team as required with improving data within the system.
• Creation of and use of existing reports in the system to assist the delivery of the Fleet assisting the Project Manager in hitting milestones required.
• Working with Project Engineer and Product Introduction Team for serial number capture and updates within the MMS system.
• Supporting the master data coordinator, and config engineers with shadow board and SBOM maintenance including creation, management and validation within Excel files and SAP.
• Cross checking work done in SAP production system by the team and feeding back information.
• Suggesting Best working practices with regards to SAP MM and data for optimisation of Hitachi Template.

About You

• Must have a detailed knowledge of SAP with respect to asset management
• Must have an understanding of asset maintenance.
• Experience of developing and administrating engineering support systems
• Experience of working within an engineering environment, preferably within the rail industry
• SAP WH – Understanding of upstream process that impact on PM Module
