We are seeking a Laboratory Technician Assistant (clinical lab assistant/phlebotomist) for part-time evening shifts, 32 hours per week, with variable hours from 2:30 PM to 11:00 PM. The role requires every other weekend and rotating holiday availability.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage daily workflow of the laboratory section with minimal supervision.
- Train and evaluate new LTAs and phlebotomy students, and recommend skill assessments.
- Coordinate phlebotomy services, monitor reports, and ensure timely patient care.
- Perform duties of LTA, Phlebotomist, and/or CLA as needed.
- Ensure specimen collection accuracy, troubleshoot equipment, and manage specimens and reports.
- Maintain accurate records, inventory, and adhere to safety and quality policies.
- Participate in safety training and contribute to a professional, respectful work environment.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Experience in phlebotomy and laboratory procedures.
- Preferred: Graduation from a phlebotomy training program and certification (ASCP eligible within one year).
- Skills in specimen collection, computer troubleshooting, and report handling.
- Ability to work independently, recognize when to seek assistance, and follow safety policies.
