Leader Education is currently recruiting for an Autism Support Assistant for a SEND school that is in Whitley Bay, North Tyneside. This specialist school provides education and support for pupils aged 2-19. We are looking for individuals to support students with Autism on a 1:1 basis or small group basis. Previous experience working with autism and/or learning difficulties is necessary. Team Teach training is advantageous, however free training may be provided.

You:

  • Ideally have previous experience with autism, learning difficulties, or complex needs
  • Be committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people
  • Have a high standard of classroom skills
  • Promote a positive, inclusive and integrated learning environment
  • Have a passion for teaching and learning with the ability to make learning enjoyable and fun
  • Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills and a commitment to collaborative working
