Leader Education are recruiting for a Children's Mental Health Classroom Assistant, for a Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) and Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs (SEMH) school in North Tyneside and Northumberland. This position creates a great opportunity for classroom development and a great way to get further exposure and experience or transfer your skills from a relevant role.
Leader Education can offer free training and continued personal development courses to further enhance the successful candidate's skills and training. This role will include working with children from Key Stage 1 through to 4 and will involve working 1:1 and in small groups. The normal working pattern is Monday-Friday from 8:30am until 4:30pm and is a long-term position.

The successful candidate will have:
- An enhanced DBS on the update service, or the willingness to obtain one
- An ability to follow instructions, school's policies and procedures
- Be patient, considerate, and compassionate
- A genuine interest for the well-being of all children
- The ability to support the teacher with planning lessons and activities within the educational setting
- A proactive personality and can assist with the preparation of materials for lessons
- Skills such as providing good communication towards staff members, parents, and carers
- Support the students with their individual needs
