My client are seeking a detail-oriented and driven Project Manager to join our team working for a growing fit out sub-contractor. The PM will play a crucial role in managing and delivering multiple projects, working with the Senior PM. This position requires someone with strong interpersonal skills, the ability to produce detailed project programmes and monitor against key milestones, as well as having a keen commercial awareness of the works. Previous experience in working as a PM within the commercial fit-out sector is key.

My client are a fast growing interior fit out contractor operating in London and the Home Counties. Operating since 2005, they have grown year on year in turnover attracting repeat business and new clients alike. They have developed their own glass and drywall partitioning systems, which are installed alongside proprietary ceiling and drywall systems. They also specialise in high quality joinery door sets and ironmongery. They have built a firm client base with many well-known main contractors within the commercial fit-out sector.

Responsibilities

  • Organise and manage own workload effectively to meet all project time scales and company/directors expectations.
  • Take full ownership of multiple fit-out projects, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery.
  • Ensure that all project documentation is produced to a high standard and distributed to the relevant parties.
  • Resolve issues promptly to avoid delays and disruptions.
  • Ensure compliance with H&S legislation and company policies.
  • Have a good understanding of drywall and ceiling design.
  • Building relationships and communicating effectively with clients and internal teams regarding project requirements.
  • Ensure quality assurance and snag-free handovers.
  • Management of procurement and material scheduling.
  • Participate in pre-construction handover meetings and post-project evaluations to identify areas for improvement.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a PM or in a similar role within the commercial fit out sector is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of construction methods, project management processes and industry best practices.
  • Excellent leadership, communication and client facing skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications and contracts.
  • Proficient in using project management software (Project/Astra) and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word).
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present complex information clearly.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • A degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field is advantageous but not essential.
  • Knowledge of CDM regulations and H&S standards.
  • SMSTS, CSCS Black Card and First Aid.
