Salary: £26,231.83 plus bank holidays
Location: Letchworth
Hours: Saturday & Sunday shifts between 07:00am to 20:00 pm including all bank holidays

CitySprint has an exciting opportunity for an Operations Controller to join our Out of Hours team. You will manage all day-to-day courier resources to maximize efficiencies across the network, adhering to customer SLAs and Health and Safety Parameters. Support the Out of Hours Senior Controller to create a KPI-driven environment based on service and revenue.
A successful Out of Hours Operations Controller manages the day-to-day resources within the OOH operation, supporting the Senior Controller & Operations Manager to positively contribute to the overall success of the department. Delivering and managing efficient and timely delivery and collections of all designated resources. Manage all stakeholder relationships to ensure CitySprint retains a positive commercial reputation.
The main responsibilities within the Operations Controller role are:
- Manage all bookings and allocate resources in line with SLAs and network optimization rules.
- Direct communications relating to designated courier workload courteously and efficiently at all times.
- Proactively manage and resolve customer, courier, and control queries by effectively communicating with other departments.
- Manage the optimization of all courier resources across the national network.
- Support the onboarding of all couriers ensuring compliance with business regulations, creating a professional image from all courier resources.
- Monitor courier performance proactively and take action where unacceptable circumstances arise (service/behavior).
- Ensure all paperwork and systems are maintained efficiently and accurately, in line with business requirements.
- Support site housekeeping proactively in line with Health and Safety requirements.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate the following:
- Ability to reprioritize tasks/workload in line with changing business needs in a busy and time-sensitive environment.
- Understand business patterns and contribute proactively to planning for success in peak periods.
- Previous experience in an operational or customer service environment.
- Working knowledge of in-house systems e.g., CityTrak and X-Despatch.
- Basic computer skills – full Microsoft Office suite.
- Understanding of business KPIs, including OOH specifics, and how to positively influence success.
- Strong customer orientation and ability to build successful/strong customer relationships.
The successful candidate will be required to undergo a DBS check as part of the recruitment process. Conditional job offers are subject to a satisfactory DBS check.
