Job Introduction
We are recruiting for a Grade 6 Network Planner to join our Plymouth depot. Planners design and work with Engineers to construct, reinforce, alter, and replace equipment. The role is fast-paced, requiring you to provide excellent service and minimize impacts on customers. Applicants need GCSE Grade C/Level 4 in English and Maths or equivalent, and a Level 2 City & Guilds 2339 or similar qualification. Evidence of qualifications is required; if not already attained, Level 3 City & Guilds 2339 must be completed. Main Responsibilities
You will be responsible for project design, costing, quoting, and the management of electricity network asset replacements, primarily on the high-voltage network. Your duties include:

  • Preparing capital projects and coordinating off-site activities
  • Designing schemes in line with Engineering Directives
  • Creating plans, schematics, wayleaves, notices, materials schedules, terms, quotations, and agreements
  • Collaborating with Grade 7 Network Planner to meet network requirements
  • Determining project scope, methods, costs, and approval
  • Resolving customer complaints
  • Managing scheme files and project closure
  • Monitoring costs, identifying variances, and implementing corrective actions
  • Visiting sites and working from developer plans

Ideal candidates may have experience as a Grade 5 Network Planner or an electrical background with relevant qualifications. Strong communication, organization, and proactive approach are essential. Experience with iPads, computers, and software is required. Mobility around the area and standby duties may be necessary.
